Check Point Researching Team is A team of researchers at google play store does work to detect the malware campaigns on Google Play. This time it discovered another largest malware/virus campaign found on Google Play Store.
The virus name is “Judy”, is an auto-clicking adware which was found on 41 apps developed by a Korean Company.
According to Check Point Team's website:-
The malware uses infected devices to generate large amounts of fraudulent clicks on ads generating revenues for the hackers behind it. The malicious apps reached an astonishing spread between 4.5 million and 18.5 million downloads. Some of the apps we discovered resided on Google Play for several years, but all were recently updated. It is unclear how long the malicious code existed inside the apps, hence the actual spread of the malware remains unknown.
How do we keep safe our Android Phones?
Some of the apps are kicked out from the google play by team but still there are some apps which remains undetected by the internal team.
So firstly you are required to beware and not to download the apps which make you learn about cooking food items. We have shared the list of such apps which have been affected by this malware.
A simple way to ensure that your Android device stays safe is by avoiding the download of apps that are not made by “trusted developers”.
The other thing which users should avoid doing is downloading apps using an “apk” file from Uc browser or chrome, instead to doing so from the Play Store.
